Pulaski Man Sustains Serious Injuries When Assaulted At Party

A Pulaski resident sustained serious injuries, and his girlfriend minor injuries, after allegedly being assaulted by three men at a party early Sunday morning.

A deputy with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched to Crockett Hospital shortly before 8:00 a.m. regarding the assault.

He reports that the victim had sustained a black eye, fractured nasal cavity, orbital fracture, sinus fracture, nasal lacerations, and several cuts and bruises.

The victim told the deputy that he, his girlfriend, and his friend had attended a party on Turnpike Road in Summertown at which alcohol was present.

He said that at around 3:00 a.m. three men approached him, making derogatory comments about his girlfriend. He said they then “jumped him and beat him up.” He said that he was unable to remember much past that point.

The victim’s girlfriend was also injured. Reports show that she sustained several cuts and scratches to her hands, arms and face when she attempted to intervene.

The friend told deputies that the victim had lost his car keys and that when the altercation began they were trying to find them so that they could leave. He said that the victim was near the fire when he walked away, and that when he returned he was bleeding from his nose.

He said that he sent the others to the car while he searched for the keys. He said that when he got to the car he found that his friend had sustained additional injuries.

The girlfriend reported that the first man had attacked the victim near the fire after which he was assaulted by a second man.

She said she heard someone following them as they walked to the car. When they reached the car, she said he was attacked by the third man.

The trio was unable to locate the car keys. The victim called a relative who then picked them up and drove them to the hospital to seek medical attention.

The victim’s injuries were documented and photographed. Although he did not know the identity of his attackers, detectives with the department’s Criminal Investigation Division are continuing to investigate the matter.
